Session 2.1 - Collaborating for Success

Monday, July 11 • 9:15 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

The complexities of the problems on the public’s agenda make it impossible for any government department or agency, by itself, to create and manage an effective solution.  Strategic collaboration with other federal agencies or levels of government and with the nonprofit or business sectors is essential to most successful outcomes.   Collaboration can start on a small scale but also can range across broad arrays of programs and organizations. Learn from pioneers who have advanced the practice of addressing goals that can only be solved by building cooperative arrangements that go well beyond the boundaries of one organization.

Confirmed panelists include:

Patricia Hoban-Moore, Director, Office of Field Policy and Management, Department of Housing & Urban Development

Christine Hill, Executive Vice President for Government Affairs, Wounded Warrior Project

Richard Boly, Director, Office of eDiplomacy, Department of State

Rear Adm. Julius Caesar, Vice Director, Joint Concept Development & Experimentation, U.S. Joint Forces Command

Patricia McGinnis, Professor of Practice, Public Policy Institute, Georgetown University
